Google Sheets automation · portfolio sample
Turns two weeks of timesheets and sales into gross pay for every employee: weekly overtime, salaries and tiered commission. Before anything is submitted, it points out the rows a person should check.
Based on the monthly pay sheet I run for the staff of my own building-supply stores. The people and amounts below are fictional example data.
| Employee | Store | Regular h | Overtime h | Wages | Salary | Sales | Commission | Gross pay | Check |

Try it: fix a name, change hours or remove a row. Everything above updates as you type.
Name, store, hourly or salary, the rate, and whether they earn commission.
Paste the time-clock export and the sales-by-employee report. Hours like 7:45 or 7.75 both work.
One menu click fills a Payroll tab, a list of items to check, and a pay stub for each person.
Copy the register into Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll or ADP, then move the sheet to the next period.
This spreadsheet only, its own menu, and sending the summary from your account. It cannot open anything else in your Google Drive.
19 automated tests cover weekly overtime, salaried staff, tiered commission, duplicate and misspelt rows, US and day-first dates, and a simulated Google Sheets run.
Shows gross pay before taxes and deductions; those stay with the payroll provider, which keeps up with each state’s rules.
